We have a proud tradition of helping children successfully claim protection in the United Kingdom.
We have a dedicated and experienced team of immigration lawyers and caseworkers who are qualified to deal with cases of children from many different nationalities and backgrounds. The majority of cases dealt with by our immigration lawyers deal with children who are unaccompanied asylum seeking minors but we also represent those who are accompanied asylum seeking minors on the basis that they have separated from their parents but are living with relatives in the United Kingdom who have a legal responsibility for the child.
Our good reputation that has been built over the years from our close ties and links within the local community and beyond. We receive referrals from social workers employed by different local authorities including Croydon Council, Greenwich, Thurrock and Lambeth to name but a few, support and key workers, the Refugee Council and foster carers who continue to use our firm and recommend us to others.
Where the age of the child is in doubt our team of immigration lawyers are committed in challenging the assessments of the UK Border Agency and local authorities in order to protect the best interests of the child.
During the asylum process our immigration lawyers always work towards safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child, until the conclusion of their case, by providing suitable interpreters, attending both screening and asylum interviews, completing the statement of evidence forms (SEF), making post interview representations to the UK Border Agency and advising as to any decisions and rights of appeal.
Our team of immigration lawyers also deal with those asylum seeking minors who have already claimed asylum but whose application has been refused with the grant of Discretionary Leave to Remain in the United Kingdom for a limited period of time, and who require assistance with making an application for an extension of stay in the United Kingdom.
Our firm of UK solicitors provides free legal assistance to those children that are eligible for immigration help. Please speak to our admin office for an initial assessment as to eligibility.
