Significant increase in Sponsor Licence suspensions and revocations

Recent statistics reveal that the Home Office have significantly increased the level of skilled worker sponsor licence suspensions and revocations in 2024.

Statistics show that in the first quarter of 2024, 309 sponsor licences were suspended and 210 revoked. This is a dramatic increase.

BHD’s specialist team carry out mock audits for our clients and monitor trends in compliance issues. This enables our team to advise on options and ensure procedures are put in place to eliminate the risk of future breaches.

Common issues we have observed include:

  • Reporting failures
  • Non-compliance with unlawful work regime
  • Misunderstanding remuneration requirements

Suspension and revocation of a licence can have devastating consequences for sponsors and business operations.

It is therefore essential for sponsors to take immediate legal if the Home Office are considering taking action. BHD Solicitors’ specialist team can assist in such situations by making swift representations and mitigating arguments to the Home Office.
