2024 Partner Route New Statement of Changes for UK Immigration Rules
Partner Route 2024 Statement of Changes for UK Immigration Rules
On 14th March 2024 the UK Government published a new Statement of Changes in Immigration Rules. The Statement of Changes sets out the significant reforms to the Appendix FM Partner Route previously announced by the Government.
From 11th April 2024 the Minimum Income Requirement will increase from £18,600 to £29,000. This will apply to new applicants applying on the 5-year partner route of Appendix FM after 11th April 2024.
There will no longer be a separate child element to the minimum income requirement.
There are transitional arrangements which apply to those who before 11th April 2024 already have leave on the 5-year partner route or have a visa on the fiancé or proposed civil partner route, or submitted applications for consideration prior to 11th April 2024. Once a minimum income requirement is met, the same minimum income requirement is applied through to settlement on the route, provided that the applicant is applying to stay with the same partner.
It is important to note that successful applications can still be made where it is not possible to meet the minimum income threshold, where exceptional circumstances exist.
