Changes to the Hong Kong BN (O) Adult Dependent Relative Visa Route
Hong Kong British National (Overseas) Adult Dependent Relative Visa Route 2024 Update
The BN(O) Adult Dependent Relative visa route is for the son, daughter, sibling, parent or grandparent, of a BN(O) status holder (or the BN(O) status holder’s partner or household member)
Changes to this route were implemented on 4th April 2024.
Prior to 4th April 2024, it was a requirement than an applicant must apply for entry clearance or leave to remain at the same time as the BN(O) Status holder.
The April 2024 changes now permit adult dependant relatives to make their applications at a different time to their sponsor.
The rules also now permit a sponsor to be both a British citizen and a BN(O) Status holder.
There are many flexible features and benefits of the BN(O) visa routes. Successful applicants will be permitted to work, live and study in the UK on a short route to settlement.
