Richard Young
Solicitor
Richard Young is a solicitor admitted in 2007 and holds a first class degree in law. He has dealt successfully and with distinction cases at all levels of the court system from the county court to the Supreme Court.
He was the solicitor with conduct of the lead case in the Supreme Court which recognised the permissibility of third party support for maintenance purposes, a previously controversial principle now enshrined in law which has benefited thousands of people and families. He deals with all aspects of personal and business immigration, including associated appeals and public law challenges where needed. He has successfully piloted scores of judicial review applications, many of which settle at an early stage in favour of his clients. He represents businesses and charities of various sizes and private individuals up and down the country.
Alongside this, Richard Young is a member of the Law Society’s Immigration Law Committee and in this role is involved in lobbying the government and Parliament on proposed reforms. He has represented the profession in television and radio interviews including with Sky News and LBC.
