How our specialist corporate & business immigration solicitors can help

Business immigration services

Our UK migration lawyers can assist individuals and businesses with the following immigration routes:

  • Innovator Founder Entrepreneur extensions and settlement
  • Global Talent
  • Skilled Worker
  • Senior or Specialist Worker
  • Health and Care Worker
  • Minister of Religion
  • International Sportsperson
  • Creative Worker
  • Religious Workers
  • International Agreement
  • UK Ancestry
  • Youth Mobility Scheme

We can also provide practical advice about obtaining indefinite leave to remain in the UK or applying for British citizenship after living and working in the UK on a business visa.

From 1 January 2021 and Britain’s exit from the European Union (Brexit), many of the immigration routes changed, unless you obtained, renewed or applied for your visa or Sponsor Licence prior to 9am on 1 December 2020. For many routes, there is now a points-based immigration system in place.

We appreciate that these changes made the system even more complex than it was originally. We can provide tailored advice about which immigration rules apply to you in your individual circumstances, ensuring there is no room for error.

Employer Sponsor Licences

Our London immigration solicitors can provide all the advice and guidance UK businesses and organisations need to sponsor migrant workers from overseas.

Businesses need a Sponsor Licence to employ any non-UK or Irish person, including any EU or Swiss citizens, unless they have settled/pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme or indefinite leave to remain.

Getting the rules wrong can result in hefty penalties and considerable disruption to your business, so it pays to get the right advice. As well as general advice about Sponsor Licences and assistance with Sponsor Licence applications, we can play a vital role in your immigration corporate strategy and act as key personnel, helping you put in place the policies you need to manage your business’s immigration activities and retain the best talent. See more about our corporate immigration services below.

UK visa applications

We help individuals and their families get the right visa to legally live and work in the UK. Whether you are a skilled worker, a business person, a sportsperson, religious worker, a creative, or any other person with valuable skills, we can provide the guidance you need while minimising stress and confusion.

Business Immigration Frequently Asked Questions

How will Brexit affect my business’s immigration strategy?

One of the primary changes is the end of Freedom of Movement, which previously allowed migrants from the European Economic Area (EEA) to freely move to the UK to work. EEA and non-EEA citizens are now treated equally in the eyes of immigration law. There have also been changes to some of the UK migrant visa and sponsorship routes.

Whether these changes affect your business and immigration strategy depend on your individual circumstances. For example, to employ an EEA migrant as a Skilled Worker after 1 January 2021, you must have a Sponsor Licence. If you had a Tier 2 Sponsor Licence, this will have been automatically transferred to the Skilled Worker Sponsor Licence.

It is important to seek advice to ensure that your transition is smooth and snag-free. Failing to get the rules right could result in your Licence being revoked completely.

What type of visa do I need to work in the UK?

The type of visa you need will depend on factors such as your skills, the type of work you want to do and the details of any job offer you have.

Most workers coming to the UK will need a Skilled Worker visa (formally a Tier 2 (General) visa). However, if you have specialist, highly sought-after skills, or you are a temporary or seasonal worker, another type of visa will likely be more appropriate. We can provide tailored advice about the type of visa you will need and can provide guidance and professional support through the immigration process.
