Divorce / Judicial Separation / Nullity / Civil Dissolution

Family Law Solicitors

We are specialist Divorce and Family solicitors within Croydon and Central London and have a strong reputation in assisting clients with marital and relationship issues. We offer competitive pricing and offer a bespoke service to all our clients.

If your relationship is breaking down, we are here to help with advice on all issues, whether you are seeking divorce proceedings, civil dissolution proceedings, nullity or a judicial separation.

We follow the Resolution Code of Practice and aim to resolve matters in a non-confrontational and constructive manner.

We will guide you through the process and advise you appropriately with regard to property, assets and settlements, as well as arrangements for the children of the family. We aim to keep the jargon to a minimum and ensure that you are well informed at every stage.

Divorce

The process of getting a divorce can be a difficult and stressful time. Our family lawyers are specialized in these sensitive matters and aim to make you feel comfortable and ensure you understand all the issues. We will explain the divorce process to you, start the divorce action for you and keep you informed of all progress.

Nullity

The law regards some marriages completely invalid from the outset or potentially invalid but which will remain in force until a decree of nullity is granted. A marriage can therefore be annulled on the grounds that it is void or voidable. Once the annulment is finalized, it is as if the marriage had never taken place.

Judicial Separation

In a judicial separation, the marriage is not deemed to have come to an end and the parties cannot remarry. This is commonly used when the parties have separated but do not want the finality of a divorce, but a legal document from the court to formalise the separation. For religious reasons, some people may not wish to go through a divorce.

Civil Dissolution

The Civil Partnership Act came into force in December 2005 for same sex marriages. We can advise you as to the process for dissolving your civil partnership and take care of the entire court process to achieve the dissolution.
