Skilled Workers and Supplementary Employment Changes

On 4th April 2024 significant changes to Skilled Worker Visas were introduced.

One positive change is the expansion of the supplementary employment provisions.

Skilled workers are permitted to take up to 20 hours supplementary employment. Currently, the supplementary work must be in the same occupation that they are sponsored for or in a shortage occupation.

As of 4th April 2024, skilled workers can take supplementary employment in any role eligible under the skilled worker route.
